The bikes...
On 5 September 2011 we departed on a three-month journey from Cape to Cairo on two 200cc Motomia motorcycles. These bikes are made in China and sold in Cape Town, South Africa and is currently one of the cheapest, yet most reliable bikes on the market. We weren't sure how they would do on a 15 000 km journey through Africa, which included some pretty tough off-road conditions along the way, but we are proud to say they were amazing.
They are currently on their way back to South Africa on a ship from Alexandria in Egypt where we loaded them at the beginning of December 2011.
Read more about the bikes we used here or visit the www.motomia.com website for more information.
Our blog...
During our trip we updated our blog on a daily basis and you can read more about our adventures here. We are still updating the blog on a weekly basis by reflecting back on each of the countries we have visited so please check in regularly. We have also started working on a book about our journey and we will keep you posted.
It has been an amazing three months and we loved travelling through Africa. Our new adventure starts now as we have both taken the plunge to work for ourselves so I'm sure that will keep us busy and out of mischief for a while. We would love to hear from you if you are also planning an adventure and you are welcome to contact us if you have any questions about our trip.
To our loyal supporters of our blog the past three months thanks for all the comments and support, it wouldn't have been the same if we could not have shared it with you.
Finally reaching Egypt!

Tania’s highlight – When we arrived at Mayoka village in Nkhata Bay, they upgraded us to a bungalow for the same price as a campsite! The bungalow overlooks the beautiful Lake Malawi and this remains one of the coolest places we stayed at during our trip. The snorkelling was awesome and it was too difficult to resist the pizzas at...
